O.J. Semmes Kickball

The O.J. Semmes Texar Terrors kickball team had a great showing at this years ECSD kickball tournament.  This was the best team yet.  The Texar Terrors defeated Navy Point Supporters 9-1 in the first game.  The Terrors followed that up with a 6-2 victory over N.B. Cook Elementary.  The team then returned on Saturday has part of the Elite 8 and took on West Florida High.   It was a grueling match and a close game with both teams fighting to score.  In the end errors were the deciding factor ending the Terrors run with a 4-1 loss.  The Terrors may have been knocked out of the tourney, but they left with their heads held high knowing that they played well and had a good time doing it.  Many of the team members could be heard as they left remarking "We will be back next year and better than ever."

Field Day

Students were out an about on Friday May 4th enjoying some fun in the sun.  It was our annual Field Day where getting healthy and having fun were the focus.  Students participated in all sorts of physical activities.  There was Tug-O-War, The Three Legged Race, Dancing, and much more.  Of course, we could not have pulled it off had it not been for our wonderful Navy volunteers who helped setup, take down, and manage the activties.

By end of the day it was obvious that Field Day also inspired some comradery to be built up amongst the students.
