Students get a rare opportunity!
Approximately 50 of our students were invited to participate in a rare and special opportunity. The students were given a police and fire escort to the Target store on Bayou Boulevard. Upon arrival they were greeted with cheers and applause from soldiers, officers, and store personel. They were then surprised as they received their very own gift card so that they could go shopping for gifts. Each student was paired with a soldier or an officer to escort them as they tended to their shopping. Some students chose to focus on buying gifts for themselves while others chose to focus on buying gifts for family members or friends. Once the students finished shopping they were provided with pizza and tacos for lunch.

New Check in Procedure for Parents
The Escambia County School District is implementing new Raptorware software for many check in and check out procedures. The system requires a person's driver license or I.D. card. This scan allows us to check a person's information against the sex offender database before allowing them to enter the school. This system will also track who is on campus so we will know who is in the building at any given time. We look forward to working with you as we use this system to improve the security of our campus and maintain the safest environment possible for your student to learn and grow.
Calendar of Events
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Don't forget to check here!
Check out our calender. Dates colored blue have events occurring on them. We update our calender regularly with important dates and events so that our parents and teachers can keep up with what is happening here at O.J. Semmes Elementary.
